Mavin Records boss and legendary music producer Don Jazzy has opened up about a personal chapter of his life that fans rarely hear him discuss, marriage.
Speaking on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old admitted that while his career has brought him global success, marriage is one aspect of life he didn’t expect to be without at this stage.
“I never thought I would be 40-something and not be married. Maybe that’s the one I lost. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine,” he shared candidly.
Reflecting on his life journey, Don Jazzy noted that even if he had not become a music mogul, he believes he would still have carved out a successful path, either as a musician or even as an influencer, given his passion for entertainment and creativity.
Long before becoming one of Africa’s most influential producers, Don Jazzy was briefly married in his early twenties. In 2003, while living in London, he tied the knot with model and writer Michelle Jackson. The marriage, however, lasted just two years, ending in divorce in 2005.
Over the years, Don Jazzy has openly acknowledged that his intense dedication to building a music career played a huge role in the breakdown of that relationship. Still, he has often spoken warmly of Michelle, describing her as a “beautiful soul” and emphasizing that they remain on good terms despite parting ways.
Today, Don Jazzy continues to focus on expanding the Mavin Records empire while embracing his single status, leaving fans both curious and hopeful about whether love might still be in the cards for the music powerhouse.
