The Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning following the heartbreaking news that veteran actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has lost another child.
The 54-year-old actor took to Instagram on Saturday to share the devastating update with his fans and colleagues.
In a solemn post, he uploaded a photo of his late son and captioned it with the Islamic prayer, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” which is translated as “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.” He added, “Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
While Chatta did not reveal details about the circumstances surrounding his son’s death, the news has sent shockwaves through his fanbase and the entertainment industry, with many offering prayers and condolences in the comment section.
This is not the first time the award-winning actor has been hit by such a painful tragedy. In June, he shared a deeply emotional story about the loss of his first child, a daughter, many years ago.
Chatta revealed that at the time, financial hardship robbed him of the opportunity to provide adequate medical care for her. The young girl passed away and, in one of the most heartbreaking details, was buried in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate due to his inability to afford a proper casket.
Known for his versatility in Yoruba films and his ability to deliver powerful performances, Ibrahim Chatta is admired not only for his craft but also for his resilience in the face of personal trials. The news of his son’s passing is yet another painful chapter in a life marked by both professional success and private sorrow.
Fans and fellow entertainers continue to rally around him, offering words of comfort as he navigates this fresh wave of grief.
