Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Jimmy Odukoya, has shared a divine revelation behind his decision to keep his dreadlocks, stating that God instructed him not to cut his hair because it would be instrumental in saving a life.

During a recent sermon, the Nollywood actor-turned-cleric disclosed that before taking up pastoral duties following the death of his father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, he sought spiritual clarity about his appearance, specifically his dreadlocks.

“One of the things I asked the Lord before I came back was whether I should cut my hair or not. And He told me not to cut my hair,” he said. To confirm the message, he asked his sister to pray about it. She returned with the same conviction, he must not cut his hair.

Odukoya shared a compelling testimony to support the divine instruction. He recounted how a woman from Zimbabwe, who had seen him in a vision years before, travelled to Nigeria just to meet him.

“She told me that in 2016, while in New York, she had a vision of a man with long hair preaching and speaking into her life,” he said. Years later, after going through a painful divorce and losing her mother, she turned to YouTube in search of hope, only to stumble on a sermon by Jimmy, the exact man from her vision.

What amazed Jimmy most was that he didn’t have dreadlocks in 2016 when she had the vision. “God, who sees and hears, knew that in 2025, someone would need to see a man with long hair preaching,” he explained.

Jimmy Odukoya was a top Nollywood actor before assuming the pastoral mantle in 2023, after his father passed away following an undisclosed illness.
