“Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impact lives and people actually appreciate! The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging.. makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY,” Davido wrote.

Davido calls for VDM to be freed

The quote, now making the rounds on social media, has added fuel to the already trending hashtag #FreeVDM, which has seen fans, activists, and celebrities demand justice and transparency in the circumstances surrounding VDM’s arrest.

While the exact reason for his arrest remains unclear, VDM is known for his fearless and often polarizing commentary on societal issues, calling out injustice and corruption. His growing popularity as a voice for the underrepresented has earned him a loyal following and apparently, the respect of high-profile figures like Davido.

Davido’s public support has energized the movement, with many commending him for using his platform to advocate for freedom of speech and justice. Social media platforms are now buzzing with praise for the singer, who has repeatedly shown solidarity with youth-led movements in Nigeria.

As the #FreeVDM campaign continues to gain momentum, all eyes are on how authorities will respond and whether public pressure from celebrities like Davido will make a difference in securing VDM’s release.
