A daylight shooting on Chicago’s West Side left a 38-year-old man dead and an 18-year-old injured on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred just after 1:15 p.m. in the 700-block of North Spaulding Avenue.
According to the Chicago Police, the two victims were standing in an alley in the East Garfield Park neighborhood when a vehicle pulled up.
Four suspects exited the vehicle and opened fire on the men before fleeing the scene.

38-year-old male: Suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

18-year-old male: Sustained gunshot wounds to the leg and arm. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and is reported to be in fair condition.
As of Tuesday evening, police have not released descriptions of the suspects or the vehicle involved.
No one is currently in custody.
Area Four detectives are leading the investigation into the motive behind the attack.
