On August 3, 2024, T1 seemed to have a strong start against Gen.G, with a big lead. However, mistakes by Faker led to their loss.
The second match was also close, but Gen.G capitalized on T1’s errors and quickly won. After the match, a video showed Faker slamming his head into a wall in frustration before his teammate Gumayusi stopped him.

It is not all glory and fame and it is certainly not for money or easy life. I’m really glad that he has good team mates and friends around him when he needs them the most. The biggest weakness of being obsessed by greatness is the potential for self destruction.”
