Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has come out strongly against a viral post that suggested her physical beauty and the attention it attracts have cost her a chance at marriage.
The controversy ignited after popular social media platform, Instablog9ja, shared a post on X featuring a quote allegedly attributed to the actress. The post read:
“I used to be the center of attention—admired, desired, and blessed with a beauty that opened doors. Yet, here I am… still unmarried. — Adunni Ade,”
Accompanied by a picture of the actress, the quote insinuated a sense of regret and longing over her marital status despite being attractive and widely admired. The post quickly garnered massive engagement, sparking debates across social media platforms as users weighed in with their interpretations and hot takes.
But Adunni Ade was having none of it. Wasting no time, the actress took to her own X account to directly address the situation. Quoting the post, she denied ever making such a statement and expressed strong displeasure over what she described as the use of her name to push fabricated content.
In a firm response, she demanded the post be taken down immediately or face possible legal consequences.
“I kindly request that you take down this post within 24 hours to prevent further action involving my legal team. I do not appreciate the fact that you’re using my name to peddle false news & articles with no verifiable source just to generate engagement,” she wrote.

Adunni, a proud single mother of two, made it clear that the quote was fake and had not appeared in any interview or publication she’s been involved with. Her swift rebuttal serves as yet another reminder of the ongoing issue of misinformation in the entertainment industry, and the harm it can cause to public figures.
With this response, Adunni Ade is making it known that she will not tolerate the misuse of her image or words to drive traffic, trends, or false narratives.
