A Dolton man, Damien Carter (44), has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and home invasion following a violent incident in Chicago’s 7th District on Saturday.
According to the Chicago Police Department (CPD), Carter was arrested on December 13, 2025, at 12:26 a.m., just minutes after the attacks occurred in the 6600 block of S. Stewart Avenue.
The suspect is accused of committing a home invasion and shooting and injuring a 39-year-old male victim. During the same incident, a 39-year-old female victim was battered. The offender was quickly apprehended by police on S. Stewart Ave. shortly after the crimes.
Carter now faces a total of four charges, including three serious felonies:

Damien Carter is scheduled for a Detention Hearing today, December 15, 2025, at 555 W. Harrison. No additional information about the victims’ conditions is currently available.
