Afrobeats continues its global reign as streaming giant Spotify unveils its list of the Top 30 Nigerian Songs with the Most Global Streams in the first half of 2025. The curated chart showcases the dominance of Nigerian artists on the international stage, with Davido, Rema, Shallipopi, and Burna Boy leading the charge in defining Africa’s musical influence across the globe.
According to Spotify, the list includes songs by Nigerian artists as well as tracks featuring Nigerian talents that racked up the highest number of streams outside Nigeria between January and June 2025. It reflects not just domestic success but the expanding footprint of Nigerian music in global pop culture.
Davido emerged as the most dominant force on the list, with nine tracks from his latest chart-topping album 5ive making it into the rankings. The achievement reinforces his standing as a global Afrobeats ambassador and a streaming powerhouse. Among his featured entries are fan favorites like ‘With You’ featuring Omah Lay and ‘Be There Still’, both of which have enjoyed massive airplay internationally.

Rema, however, clinched the No. 1 spot with his emotionally charged and sonically rich hit ‘Baby (Is It A Crime)’. The track has captivated audiences worldwide, marking another milestone for the young artist often regarded as part of Afrobeats’ new generation of hitmakers.
Shallipopi secured the No. 2 spot with ‘Laho’, showing his growing appeal among global audiences. His collaboration with Frenna on ‘Zazaza’ also cracked the top 10, further cementing his breakout year.
Burna Boy, who had five songs on the list, continues his tradition of impactful cross-continental collaborations. Notably, ‘Tatata’ featuring American rapper Travis Scott, and ‘We Pray’ with Coldplay, demonstrate his versatility and crossover appeal. Burna’s ‘Update’ and his feature on ‘Laho II’ by Shallipopi also made the top tier of the chart.
Rounding out the Top 10 is Chella’s romantic hit ‘My Darling’, proving that emerging acts are also making significant waves in the global scene.
The release of this chart not only underscores the popularity of Nigerian music but also highlights the genre’s evolving sound and growing diversity. From introspective ballads to upbeat street-hop anthems, Afrobeats and its subgenres continue to captivate listeners across continents.
As the second half of 2025 unfolds, fans and industry watchers alike will be eager to see if Davido maintains his stronghold or if Rema, Shallipopi, or another emerging star will rise to take the crown.
