A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of a luxury nightclub owned by popular socialite and entertainer, Pretty Mike, over allegations linking the property to drug storage and distribution.
Justice Musa Kakaki issued the order on Tuesday following an ex parte motion filed by counsel to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Buhari Abdulahi, who argued that the nightclub was being used as an instrumentality of crime.
The property, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, and operating under the name Proxy Lagos Night Club, was allegedly discovered to be a major storage and distribution hub for nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and cannabis sativa.
According to court documents, NDLEA operatives stormed the nightclub on October 26, 2025, after receiving credible intelligence about plans for a large-scale drug party. During the midnight raid, officers reportedly recovered 169 cylinders (384.662 kilograms) of nitrous oxide and 200 grams of cannabis, arresting more than 200 individuals, including Pretty Mike (real name Mike Nwalie) and his associate, Joachim Hillary.
An affidavit deposed by Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Nasiru Garba Bungudu, revealed that laboratory analysis confirmed the substances as controlled drugs. The NDLEA further alleged that the nightclub had a history of drug-related activities conducted with the full knowledge and consent of its owner.
Moving the motion, Mr. Abdulahi urged the court to grant the forfeiture order to the Federal Government, insisting that the property had become a threat to public safety and must remain sealed until investigations are completed. He also asked that all commercial and entertainment operations at the venue be suspended to prevent interference with ongoing probes.
After reviewing the evidence, Justice Kakaki granted the NDLEA’s prayers, ordering the interim forfeiture of Proxy Lagos Night Club to the Federal Government and the immediate suspension of all activities at the location.
The case has been adjourned to January 28, 2026, for further hearing.
This development marks a major blow to the flamboyant nightlife entrepreneur, known for his eccentric public appearances and lavish parties across Lagos. Pretty Mike, who has yet to release an official statement, now faces the possibility of losing his multimillion-naira nightclub permanently if found guilty.
