A 23-year-old woman is facing attempted murder charges for a shooting that occurred nearly a year ago.
Chicago police arrested Lissette Chavez on Saturday in Oak Park.
The Area 5 Homicide Investigation Support Team took her into custody in the 200 block of North Harlem Avenue.
Authorities identified Chavez as the person who shot and seriously wounded a 25-year-old woman in March 2025.
The shooting took place in the 6100 block of North Karlov Avenue in the city’s 17th District.
Chavez now faces one felony count of first-degree attempted murder.
She also faces one felony count of aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm.
Court records show her detention hearing is scheduled for today, January 25, 2026.
The hearing will take place at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California Avenue.
Police have not released a motive or any further details regarding the investigation at this time.
