Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian in West Garfield Park last month.
The incident happened on November 21, 2025, at approximately 9:09 p.m. at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Cicero Avenue.
According to investigators, a pedestrian was using the crosswalk to walk across Cicero Avenue when they were struck by a white sedan.
The vehicle is described as a 2016–2023 White Nissan Maxima.
In a disturbing turn of events, the driver initially stopped and briefly checked on the injured pedestrian.
However, instead of waiting for emergency responders or providing identification, the driver returned to the car and fled the scene, heading south on Cicero Avenue.
The Chicago Police Department’s 15th District issued the alert to help locate the vehicle and the driver involved.
The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been released.
Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or the driver is urged to contact the Chicago Police Department.
Even small details, like a partial license plate or recent damage to a white Nissan Maxima, could be vital to the investigation.
