A 34-year-old man is in serious condition after a stabbing near a South Side CTA station early Sunday morning.
The attack occurred around 2:51 a.m. near the 69th Street Red Line station.
According to Chicago police, the victim got into a verbal argument with another person.
During the dispute, the suspect pulled out a weapon and stabbed the man in the chest.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Hospital staff listed the man in serious condition as of Sunday morning.
The attacker fled the scene immediately after the stabbing.
Chicago detectives say no one is currently in custody for the crime.
Police are continuing to investigate the motive behind the argument.
