A 43-year-old man faces attempted murder charges following a violent assault on Chicago’s West Side Monday afternoon.
Police arrested Curtis Conner in the 5300 block of West Madison Street around 4:30 p.m. on January 26.
Investigators identified Conner as the person who attacked a 38-year-old man just 20 minutes earlier in the same block.
The victim suffered serious injuries after being struck with a deadly weapon.
Officers from the 15th District located Conner quickly and took him into custody without further incident.

Conner now faces a string of serious felony charges, including First Degree Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery.
He is also charged with Armed Violence and violating sex offender registration requirements.
The victim’s current medical condition has not been released by authorities.
Conner is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building on January 29.
