American rap superstar Cardi B has opened up about why she is constantly trailed by drama and controversies, insisting that she doesn’t deliberately seek them out.
The rapper, who recently made headlines after announcing she is pregnant with a baby for her boyfriend, NFL player Stefon Diggs, despite being in the middle of a divorce from her estranged husband and fellow rapper Offset, said her larger-than-life personality makes her an “easy target” for media scrutiny.
Speaking in an interview with CBS, Cardi B reflected on how controversy seems to find her, even though she tries to avoid it.
“I didn’t think I was that much drama. When I was in high school and I was voted most dramatic in my high school yearbook, I was surprised. I don’t like drama, it just follows me. Sometimes, certain things just followed certain people,” she explained.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker admitted that her outspoken character, bold aura, and unfiltered mouth often fuel public debates around her personal life and career.
“When you have like a big personality like me or when you have a mouth like me or whatever aura that I give, it [drama] will follow you because it makes you like an easier target. I don’t like drama. It stresses me,” she added.
Cardi B’s latest revelation comes amid a swirl of public reactions to her pregnancy news, with fans divided over her relationship with Diggs while she finalizes her split from Offset.
Despite the controversies, Cardi B remains one of the most influential and outspoken voices in music, known for her fearless attitude both on and off the stage.
