U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) today reported a dramatic rescue after agents discovered an individual trapped and injured in concertina wire while attempting to illegally cross the border.
Agents from the El Paso Sector found the individual stuck in the razor-sharp wire and were forced to use specialized tools to safely cut them out.
The person sustained only minor scrapes but was taken to the Central Processing Center (CPC) for disposition and processing, which includes medical evaluation and standard procedures for illegal entry.
CBP Issues Severe Warning
Following the incident, the federal agency issued a stern warning against all attempts to cross the border illegally.
The statement emphasized the high danger of the barriers and the certainty of apprehension.
“Do not attempt to cross the border illegally! We will find and remove you!” the agency posted, highlighting the risks involved, such as getting severely injured or trapped by the wire.
The individual was discovered stuck in the concertina wire, underscoring the lethal risks inherent in crossing without authorization. The CBP used the incident to reinforce its message that illegal crossings are inherently dangerous and ultimately unsuccessful.
