Controversial social media critic and influencer, Verydarkman, is once again at the center of online buzz after a scathing commentary on the state of infrastructure and development in Benue State.
In a video that has since gone viral, the outspoken personality didn’t hold back his frustrations, labeling Benue as the least developed state he has ever set foot in. His blunt assessment has triggered heated debates online and reactions from residents and netizens alike.
“Benue is still in the year 1940. It is the most underdeveloped state I have ever been to,” he declared in the footage, clearly shaken by what he witnessed during a recent visit.
Verydarkman went on to detail his personal experiences in the state, especially in Yelwata, where he’s currently funding a borehole project. According to him, the deteriorating infrastructure and security challenges are not only affecting residents but also scaring away potential investors who might otherwise bring economic growth to the region.
“Investors can’t come because of bad roads and insecurity,” he emphasized.
In a particularly alarming revelation, the influencer shared that the workers involved in his community project have had to halt operations out of fear for their lives.
“I’m currently drilling a borehole in Yelwata, but the people can’t continue the work because they are afraid of being killed,” he added.
While some supporters praised him for shedding light on the neglect and insecurity plaguing the state, others criticized his approach, accusing him of painting the state in a negative light.
Still, his remarks have reignited conversations around the need for urgent development in Benue and have placed even more pressure on local authorities to address the long-standing issues affecting the region.
