Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martin, better known by his stage name Dee-One, has described his participation in the popular reality TV show as one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
Dee-One, who contested in the “Double Wahala” edition of BBNaija in 2018, gained notoriety for his outspoken nature but was evicted just 22 days into the show. Despite his short stay, he has remained one of the most talked-about alumni of the franchise, thanks to his controversial social media commentaries.
In a recent interview, the comedian did not mince words as he reflected on his BBNaija journey, insisting that the show did not provide him with much value or career advancement.
“Big Brother Naija was a mistake that happened in my life. Big Brother did not really help me like that,” he said.
The comic further argued that many ex-housemates continue to struggle after leaving the house, pointing out that fame from the show often doesn’t translate into long-term success.
“There are a lot of people who went to Big Brother Naija who today are struggling with what to eat,” Dee-One remarked.
He also singled out two popular alumni, Kiddwaya and White Money, for criticism. According to him, White Money, who won Season 6 of the reality show, should focus on his culinary skills instead of pursuing a music career.
“White Money was one of the people who encouraged me to start talking online. He knows about the jollof, but the music is not,” he quipped.
On Kiddwaya, Dee-One alleged that the billionaire son’s flamboyant lifestyle does not match his true financial reality.
“Kiddwaya is not as rich as he portrays himself. Why is he living a fake life?” he questioned.
His comments have since stirred reactions among fans, with some agreeing that many BBNaija stars fade into obscurity after the show, while others argue that the platform has been a life-changing springboard for numerous successful entertainers.
