A 26-year-old woman, identified as Arianna Bosney (known as “Ari”), was fatally shot on Monday afternoon in a drive-by attack on Chicago’s South Side.
The incident occurred around 4:48 p.m. at the intersection of 76th Street and Vincennes Avenue.
Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers responded to calls of a person shot inside a vehicle and found Arianna Bosney inside the driver’s seat of a black 2014 Chevy Cruze.
She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her body, including her abdomen.

Arianna was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.
Ambush at a Traffic Light
According to CPD, the victim was sitting at a traffic light when another vehicle pulled up next to her.
The occupants of the second car opened fire, striking Arianna multiple times before speeding away from the scene.
Investigators found approximately 15 shell casings at the crime scene, confirming the high volume of fire directed at the vehicle.
The black Chevy Cruze was visibly damaged by the gunshots.
The shooting has deeply affected the community, with one individual commenting online that Arianna was her daughter’s godchild, stating, “I’m so tired of this!! Rest in Paradise, Ari!”
