In a dramatic turn of events, Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has publicly apologized to fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Senator Ned Nwoko, following weeks of controversy, online spats, and a police invitation reportedly linked to a cyberbullying petition.

The apology marks a significant retreat from Angela’s previous hard stance, as she openly acknowledged that her actions and words fueled by emotion and pain may have caused deep hurt. In a candid and reflective Instagram post, she offered a heartfelt plea for forgiveness, saying recent developments have pushed her into a period of intense soul-searching.

“Hi beautiful people, these past days have been a period of intense reflection for me. Lately, having reminisced on certain events that had transpired, I can only thank God that I am alive,” she began.

Angela admitted that her feud with Mercy Johnson, which played out heavily on social media, could have been handled differently. She confessed to speaking from a place of pain and reacting emotionally without fully considering the impact of her words.

“It’s no secret that there have been some difficult issues circulating on social media between Mercy Johnson and myself… I am human, and when my emotions take over, I speak from the heart… but I realize now that my utterances, whether uttered from the place of pain or not, were hurtful.”

She then turned directly to Mercy Johnson, expressing regret over any distress she may have caused and emphasizing that she has no ill will towards her or her family.

“I feel so sorry having realized how this gets to you, Mercy. Your mental health is very important now and ever & I wouldn’t wish you and your family worse, that’s not my nature, and you know it. Do find a place in your heart to forgive me.”

Her apology comes amid reports that Mercy Johnson had filed a formal petition with the police over what she described as incessant cyberattacks and harassment, which allegedly led to Angela being invited for questioning.

Angela also used the opportunity to extend an olive branch to Senator Ned Nwoko, admitting that her previous remarks about him were born out of anger and miscommunication.

“My sincere apology also goes to Senator Ned Nwoko. I understand that my anger in trying to make a reply didn’t find you in a good state… I truly reacted in a way I now recognize wasn’t pleasant. I cannot intentionally disrespect you for whatever reason.”

She recalled her past involvement with the senator’s political campaign and his family’s children’s events as evidence of the positive history between them, making her recent actions all the more regrettable.

“All these have made me realize that being at peace is better than war or fight, I deeply regret my actions and am sorry.”

Angela concluded her post by addressing the broader challenges she has faced recently, accusations, betrayal, and false narratives spread by bloggers but noted she has chosen forgiveness and peace over ongoing conflict.

The public apology has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising Angela for showing humility, while others question the timing and motive behind her sudden change of tone.

Nonetheless, her message remains clear: after weeks of drama, Angela Okorie is choosing peace over pain and asking for forgiveness to finally close the chapter on a bitter feud.
