Yinka Theisan, the former wife of Nollywood actor Linc Edochie, has broken her silence regarding her fallout with May Edochie and the series of events that ultimately led to the collapse of her marriage.
In a candid interview with social media personality Uche Maduagwu, Yinka shed light on how her well-intentioned efforts to help the Edochie family spiraled into online controversy and personal heartbreak.
According to Yinka, her connection with May began when she helped Linc recover his hacked Instagram account; a gesture he acknowledged with a public thank-you post. That moment drew May’s attention, who was dealing with similar cyber issues. Through Linc, May reached out to Yinka, who says she offered assistance “to the best of my ability.”
However, things quickly took a dramatic turn when Yinka interacted with a social media post from Judy Austin, the controversial wife of actor Yul Edochie, and a known rival to May. Yinka explained that she merely liked a picture Judy posted of her baby — a move that enraged May’s dedicated supporters, commonly referred to as the “May Nation.”
“So now all this started when I liked Judy’s baby’s picture. I have never spoken to Yul or Judy in my entire life. So all I did was decide I was going to be neutral from now on. I do not want to hate or point fingers, so I wrote stuff, and some people attacked me,” Yinka explained.
The backlash was swift and intense. Yinka claims she was harassed online and, in the heat of the moment, publicly shared May Edochie’s phone number — a decision that quickly went viral and escalated the situation.
The incident stirred up a media storm, bringing unwanted attention to Linc Edochie and placing strain on their marriage. Eventually, the pressure became too much, and according to Yinka, Linc decided to end their union.
“When Linc’s Instagram account was hacked, I was the one who retrieved it, so he posted about it, that a friend helped him recover his account. I was that friend. May saw the post and requested my number because she had issues with hacking, and I helped her to the best of my ability,” she said.
While reflecting on the fallout, Yinka made it clear that her intentions were never malicious. She emphasized that she only wanted to remain neutral in the ongoing feud between May Edochie and Judy Austin and that her simple online interaction was blown out of proportion.
The incident underscores the heightened sensitivity surrounding the Edochie family drama particularly the polarizing relationship dynamics involving Yul, May, and Judy. As social media continues to magnify celebrity relationships, even the smallest actions can snowball into public spectacles with real-life consequences.
Yinka’s revelation has sparked renewed conversation online, with some sympathizing with her position and others defending May. What remains clear is that in the age of digital drama, neutrality can come at a high cost.
