Popular Nigerian comedian and industry veteran, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, better known as Ali Baba, has reportedly been evicted from his multi-million naira mansion in Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the report, the eviction was carried out by bailiffs of the Federal High Court on August 15, 2025, following a writ of possession signed by the court. The property in question is located at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street, one of the most sought-after addresses in Victoria Island.
The mansion, which Ali Baba reportedly acquired in 2021 through the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) for ₦220 million, has become the subject of a protracted legal tussle. AMCON maintains that the property was part of assets seized to recover debts allegedly owed by Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited.
However, Harold Expansion has strongly disputed the debt claims, insisting through its lawyer, Benjamin Olayiwola Sadibo, that repayments had already been made. The company further countered that the property was wrongfully sold, sparking an ownership dispute that has now snowballed into Ali Baba’s eviction.
Despite widespread reports, Ali Baba and his management team have remained silent on the matter, leaving fans and industry watchers awaiting an official reaction from the ace comedian who has, for decades, stood as one of the pioneers of stand-up comedy in Nigeria.
