Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, better known by her stage name Kemity or Sidi, has broken her silence on a topic that has often made her a target of online trolls: having two children with different fathers.
In a heartfelt conversation on Talk to B podcast hosted by fellow actress Biola Bayo, Kemity finally addressed the criticism she’s faced over the years, revealing the painful and deeply personal circumstances that shaped her journey.
The actress recounted that her first pregnancy happened while she was still in secondary school, a time when her entire future was still unfolding.
“I was about to sit for my SSCE exam when I got pregnant. My mother insisted that I must continue my education before I could marry the man who got me pregnant,” she explained, showing that her early decisions were shaped by parental guidance and the need to complete her schooling.
Tragically, life took an even more heartbreaking turn. The father of her first child was killed under mysterious circumstances after returning to Nigeria from Malaysia.
“The father of my first child was killed in a Nigeria hotel after he returned from Malaysia. He didn’t inform me or anyone when he came back to Nigeria. I just received a call that he was found dead and when we got to the scene, we only saw 300 dollars with him. We believed the money he returned with was stolen before we got there. That is how I became a widow,” she shared.
Kemity went on to highlight how quick society is to judge without knowing the full story.
“I was trolled for having two children for different fathers. People don’t really know how it happened. It is not my wish or intentions to leave my husband.”
Opening up further, she detailed how she met the father of her second child during a period of growth and self-improvement.
“I met the father of my second child when I was doing computer training. I had a court wedding with him, but we started having a misunderstanding over his extra marital affairs after I got pregnant for him. I later left him when he told me that his Alfa told him that he cannot be successful except he separates from me,” she said.
Kemity’s story sheds light on the emotional and societal challenges many women face especially in the public eye. While trolls focus on surface-level judgments, her lived experiences reflect strength, sacrifice, and survival.
Through her honest revelations, the actress not only reclaims her narrative but also inspires others who may be facing similar trials in silence.
