A social media storm erupted after a Nigerian woman, Mbah Amarachi Kama, publicly debunked a pastor’s viral miracle testimony, insisting that her mother was never deaf contrary to claims made during a crusade in Umuahia.
The controversy began on Saturday, December 6, when popular cleric Sign Fireman shared photos from the opening day of his “Umuahia Big Miracle Invasion.” In his post, the pastor announced that Amarachi’s mother had allegedly been healed instantly from 36 years of deafness in her left ear.
However, Amarachi quickly took to the comment section to challenge the testimony, sparking heated debates online. According to her, the story was completely fabricated.
The pastor’s original post featured images from the ministration, accompanied by bold declarations such as:
“Instantly healed of 36 years deafness!”
“Details: The deafness was that of the left ear.”
But Amarachi, visibly shocked, corrected the narrative.
She wrote:
“36 years of deafness??? This is my mother and she isn’t and wasn’t deaf, ever! Let’s be guided properly, please.”
She clarified that her mother only stepped forward for prayers due to temporary pain in her left ear, not deafness. She emphasized that her mother never acted, never collected money, and had no idea the post had been embellished.
Amarachi further demanded that the pastor’s page edit the misleading caption or take down the post completely.
Her revelation has since stirred intense reactions across social media, with many Nigerians questioning the authenticity of miracle claims and calling for greater accountability from religious leaders.
