Popular Nigerian gospel singer Shola Allyson has made a surprising revelation about her personal life, disclosing that although she is married, she no longer lives with her husband.
The 54-year-old singer opened up during an interview on Oyinmomo TV while discussing her love life and the realities behind her long-standing marriage. Allyson, who rose to fame with her love-themed album Eji Owuro, said her marital experience has been far from the fairy-tale stories often portrayed.
“I’m married, but I’m not in my husband’s house. We live separately,” she stated candidly.
When asked whether she ever experienced true love from her husband, especially after singing a romantic album like Eji Owuro, Allyson explained that she once believed in the idealized version of love people were taught growing up.
Her words:
“We lied before. Those older than us didn’t inform us that it’s tough. They made us believe that so long as you both love each other, you will live happily ever after, but it’s a lie. That’s not the experience I have. I didn’t have the experience of living happily ever after. I did all I could to make it work.”
The revelation has sparked widespread discussion online, with many fans praising her honesty and others expressing shock at the realities behind her marriage.
