Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has insisted that his son will only be laid to rest after the court concludes the DNA test on the singer’s son.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, December 2, ahead of the scheduled hearing, Aloba emphasized that the DNA confirmation remains the major reason Mohbad has not been buried.
He said:
“Today is the DNA court case. We are here now. My lawyer is here. I am telling the whole world that this is the most important thing and exactly what is delaying the burial of Mohbad. After the DNA is done, we can now move on to the burial aspect.”
Mohbad, who passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, left behind a son whose paternity has become a subject of dispute. Aloba has repeatedly expressed doubts, claiming the late singer once confided in him about alleged infidelity by his wife, Wunmi, during their dating period.
As the court prepares to address the DNA issue, the family continues to await closure before proceeding with Mohbad’s final burial rites.
