Entertainer and comedian Mr Jollof has publicly apologised following his heated physical altercation with social media critic VeryDarkMan aboard a commercial flight.
The duo, who have been at odds online for months, were seen in a viral video exchanging blows mid-air, causing a stir among passengers and sparking widespread online commentary.
In a statement shared on his social media pages, Mr Jollof described the confrontation as “out of character,” stressing that he only reacted in self-defence after being provoked.
He expressed deep regret over the incident, especially to his family, noting that the behaviour did not reflect his values.
“I was only defending myself. It was unlike me,” he wrote. “To my lovely wife, I know you’re proud of me, baby. No be by muscle. And to my kids, I’m sorry, Daddy will never do this again.”
Mr Jollof further claimed that VeryDarkMan initiated the conflict, stating that he had tried to ignore him even after an insult was thrown his way.
He added that he usually encourages others to remain calm when provoked, acknowledging that this incident was a rare departure from his own advice.
The comedian assured fans that such a situation would not repeat itself.
