Nigerian singer Oludipe David, popularly known as Spyro, has declared that he would remain financially comfortable even if he stopped making music today. According to him, a significant portion of his earnings comes from performing at high-paying corporate events rather than traditional industry shows.
Speaking on the 14th edition of the Adesope Live Show, the Who Is Your Guy crooner revealed that his brand has become a top choice for banks, corporate bodies and elite clients because his music cuts across all age groups and is considered “clean” enough for family-friendly events.
“If I stop making music today, I’m made. A lot of people don’t know that because I don’t brag,” he said, noting that people often underestimate his financial strength due to his humble lifestyle.
Spyro further disclosed that he has made several wise investments over the years, which have helped secure his long-term financial stability.
He added that he’s frequently booked for end-of-year corporate engagements by influential figures and top organisations, including billionaire Tony Elumelu.
According to him, only a select few artists such as Chike and Johnny Drille fall into the same category of musicians whose music is suitable for corporate and family events.
“I really don’t do industry shows. I do corporate shows. I carved a niche for myself like that. When they’re looking for clean music, especially where children will be present, only a few of us get that call,” he said.
