Nigerian-Ghanaian rising star Jainy has bared her heart in an emotional note shared on Instagram, opening up about her journey in the music industry following the release of the remix to her Amapiano single, “Unknown.”
The singer, who recently teamed up with South African sensations Alfakat and Lintonto for the remix, reflected on the obstacles she has faced while carving a space for herself in an increasingly competitive industry.
According to Jainy, there was a time she was made to feel that raw talent was not enough. She revealed that she was pressured to shrink herself, compromise her values, or “sell” parts of her identity just to be acknowledged.

“God has a way of placing the right people in your path,” she wrote. “Finding a team that believed in my voice, my story and my dreams without asking me to be anything less… that changed everything.”
Jainy described her rise as a journey filled with “yeses” that came after countless “not yets,” recalling how she moved from small studio rooms to stages she once prayed to stand on. She said each opportunity reminded her why she never gave up.
The singer also explained why “Unknown” holds a special place in her heart. For her, the song reflects the battles she has fought, the healing she continues to experience, and the woman she is becoming.
“This journey is far from easy, but it’s mine,” she wrote. “And I’m walking it with gratitude, fire and the strongest support system behind me.”
With the success of the original track and the buzz around the newly released remix, Jainy appears more confident than ever, telling fans that the new chapter of her music career is only just beginning.
