The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has set its sights on a young TikTok user known as FloridaNamedJitt, also called mr.floridajhit.
DHS accuses him of posting violent threats against law enforcement officers on the platform.
FloridaNamedJitt posted a video showing a group of teens on a field.
The clip included text overlays that DHS says warn of cartels placing $50,000 bounties on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
The user later deleted the video and claimed his account got hacked. He denied any intent to threaten U.S. agents.
DHS shared screenshots of the video on X, formerly Twitter.
They wrote: “FAFO. If you threaten or lay hands on our law enforcement officers we will hunt you down and you will find out, really quick. We’ll see you cowards soon.”
But questions arose about the video’s authenticity.
Screenshots show the original clip targeted Iran, with text like “don’t say something that you can’t finish Iran’s” and “WE want all the smoke.”
Critics say DHS or others edited it to replace “Iran’s” with “ICE,” changing the meaning to threaten U.S. agents. The backgrounds and clothing in the versions also differ, fueling claims of doctoring.
DHS ramped up the response in another post: “WE HAVE THE RECEIPTS. This young man posted violent threats of murder against our law enforcement. He then deleted it when he was called out, and attempted to deny all wrong doing. We have the receipts, and the internet is forever.”
They also blamed leading Democrats for ignoring a rise in violent talk against agents.
As of now, no arrests have been reported, but DHS vows to pursue those who threaten officers.
