Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi “Imisi” Ayanwale, has opened up about her heartfelt connection with fellow finalist Kola Omotosho, describing him as her emotional anchor and “only safe space” during her stay in the Big Brother house.
In a candid post-show chat with ex-housemate and media personality Doyin David, Imisi reflected on the intense pressures of life in the house and how Kola’s presence helped her navigate moments of vulnerability, tension, and self-doubt.
“I feel like Kola was my only safe space,” Imisi said. “Anytime I felt down, he was always there. When he was down too, I was there for him. He’s always been vulnerable with me, and that really meant a lot.”
Imisi, who captured viewers’ hearts with her authenticity and calm personality throughout the season, explained that her friendship with Kola was one of mutual trust and emotional support rather than romance, something she found rare in the high-stakes world of Big Brother Naija.
Doyin, who hosted the interview, praised the pair’s unique bond, calling it “one of the most genuine friendships in Big Brother Naija history.”
According to her, the dynamic between Imisi and Kola stood out because it wasn’t built on romantic attraction but on trust, respect, and shared understanding.
“I think your friendship with Kola is the best we’ve seen on BBN, not just this season, but in the entire franchise,” Doyin remarked. “It’s rare to see a boy-and-girl friendship where both people remain true to each other without crossing boundaries.”
Kola, for his part, has also spoken glowingly about his connection with Imisi since the show ended. In a separate interview, he described their relationship as “purely brother-sister-like,” saying it reminded him that genuine human connection can thrive even in competitive spaces.
“She’s like a sister to me,” Kola said. “She always looks out for me, and I do the same. That’s a bond you don’t find often.”
Fans of the show have since flooded social media with admiration for the duo, praising their friendship as “a breath of fresh air” in a franchise often dominated by romantic storylines. Many noted that their ability to maintain sincerity, loyalty, and emotional openness throughout the competition set a new standard for what real friendship looks like on reality TV.
As the dust settles on BBNaija Season 10, it’s clear that beyond the drama, competition, and alliances, the Imisi–Kola friendship remains one of the season’s most wholesome and inspiring highlights.
