Global pop superstar Taylor Swift has reassured her fans that marriage will not mark the end of her music career, following widespread speculations that she might step back from the spotlight after her recent engagement to American football star Travis Kelce.
In a candid interview with BBC Radio 2, the Life of a Showgirl hitmaker dismissed the rumours, emphasizing that marriage should never be seen as a reason for anyone, especially women to give up their passions or careers.
Swift, who has been a vocal advocate for women’s independence and creative freedom throughout her career, noted that her fiancé, Travis Kelce, fully supports her artistry and understands how much fulfillment she derives from making music.
“It’s not why people get married, so they can quit their job,” she said. “Oh, I know they love to panic sometimes, but I love the person I’m with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.”
Her statement comes amid ongoing social media discussions, with some fans speculating that the singer might slow down her career to focus on family life after tying the knot. However, Swift’s recent comments have put those fears to rest, assuring fans that she remains deeply committed to her craft.
The 12-time Grammy winner and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end got engaged in August 2025, after nearly two years of dating. The couple, who began their relationship in the summer of 2023, have since become one of America’s most talked-about celebrity pairings, often seen supporting each other’s careers both on and off the stage.
With Taylor Swift currently working on new projects and gearing up for the next leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, it’s clear that marriage is only adding a new chapter to her story, not closing the book on her music career.
