Nigerian music icon, Tiwa Savage, has opened up about an intimate decision concerning motherhood, revealing that she has chosen to freeze her eggs and is encouraging other women to consider doing the same.
In a recent interview, the award-winning Afrobeats queen explained that her son’s constant request for siblings played a major role in influencing her choice. Balancing a flourishing music career with the demands of motherhood, Savage said she made the decision to prepare herself for the possibility of expanding her family in the future.
She further urged women to explore egg freezing as a proactive step, stressing that biological limitations can make it more difficult to have children at an older age, particularly for those prioritizing their careers or facing health challenges.
Savage also used the opportunity to call for the process to be made more affordable and accessible in Nigeria, noting that many women who could benefit from it are unable to pursue the option due to cost barriers.
Her candid revelation has sparked conversations online about women’s reproductive health, family planning, and the need for greater awareness of fertility preservation.
