American R&B superstar Chris Brown has once again stirred conversation online after deactivating his Instagram account, which boasted more than 75 million followers.
The unexpected move has left fans speculating about what may have prompted the decision. While no official explanation has been given, the singer had earlier hinted at frustration with online chatter.
Just before going offline, Brown posted a message to his followers announcing that he would be stepping back from digital platforms.
“Ima take a break from social media. You all done pissed me off long enough,” the post read.
His deactivation comes shortly after reports surfaced in the Daily Mail alleging that the singer charged $1,200 to take a photo with a male fan. Though the report quickly went viral, it remains unconfirmed.
For now, fans are left in the dark about whether Brown’s exit from Instagram is temporary or permanent. What is certain, however, is that the Grammy-winning artist continues to spark both controversy and curiosity whenever he makes a move online.
