Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has once again found himself at the center of an impersonation scandal after a fraudster allegedly used his identity to swindle a woman of a staggering N33 million.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Victoria Ayano, petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing one Bolanle Azeez of posing as the famous actor and obtaining the massive sum under false pretenses.
Taking to Instagram to express his disbelief, Ninalowo shared the petition and reacted with shock at the audacity of the scam and the mind-blowing figure involved. The actor wrote: “Which kine juju be this naa?”
He went further to reveal that even at the height of his Nollywood success, he has never received such a huge payout for a single role. “This one loud ooo. N33,000,000 for wetin? Even Nollywood wey blow me never pay me N33 million per film.”
The case has reignited conversations around the challenges celebrities face with impersonation and the vulnerability of unsuspecting fans online.
This incident is not the first time Ninalowo has had to deal with fraudsters leveraging his name. In 2023, a man was convicted and sentenced to prison for impersonating him. More recently, in March 2025, the actor lamented the growing number of fake accounts created in his name on TikTok and other social media platforms, which scammers have used to target victims.
Despite his repeated warnings, the issue persists, leaving Ninalowo frustrated at the extent to which his identity has been weaponized for fraudulent activities.
