The stage is set for a heated showdown at the 11th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) as Nigerian superstars Davido, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy go head-to-head for the coveted Artiste of the Year crown.
The nomination list, which was unveiled recently, has further solidified Nigeria’s dominance on the African music scene. Burna Boy and Davido emerged among the most recognized artists this year, each securing five nominations across major categories. Street sensation Shallipopi also made an impressive mark with four nods, including Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year.
Rema, another global Nigerian export, bagged three nominations also competing in the Artiste of the Year race. Ayra Starr, who continues to enjoy international acclaim with her chart-topping hits, is nominated in two categories, including the highly competitive Artiste of the Year, where she faces off against heavyweights Davido, Burna Boy, and Morocco’s El Grande Toto.
Public voting for AFRIMA 2025 opens on September 10, giving fans worldwide the chance to support their favorite stars.
The much-anticipated awards ceremony will take place in Nigeria from November 25 to 30, 2025, promising a week-long celebration of African music, culture, and artistry.
