It was a deeply moving moment in the Big Brother Naija house on Monday afternoon as Biggie honoured the memory of former housemates who have sadly passed away, leaving both viewers and contestants emotional.
In a solemn tribute, Biggie gathered all the current Season 10 housemates in the lounge while images of the departed reality stars appeared on the big screen. The housemates stood in silence as a minute of reflection was observed in their honour, paying respect to the legacies they left behind.
Since the reality show’s inception in 2006, three former housemates have been lost:

Francisca Owumi – Runner-up of the first-ever BBNaija season in 2006, Francisca was remembered for her lively spirit and signature dance moves that made her a fan favourite. She sadly passed away in August 2024 after a brief illness.

Joseph “Joe” Ada – Also part of the pioneer 2006 season, Joe was celebrated for his calm strength and unique presence in the house. He died in May 2023 following an illness.

Rico Swavey (Patrick Fakoya) – A beloved contestant from the Double Wahala season in 2018, Rico won the hearts of many with his warmth, creativity, and easygoing nature. His tragic passing in October 2022, after a ghastly car accident, shocked fans across Nigeria and beyond.
The emotional gesture by Big Brother served as a reminder of the bond shared among housemates and the lasting impact they leave on the BBNaija family and its millions of viewers. Fans have since taken to social media to share heartfelt messages, celebrating the lives and memories of the late reality stars.
With the tribute, Big Brother reaffirmed that though gone, Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey will never be forgotten.
