Nigerian music star Kizz Daniel, born Daniel Anidugbe, has sparked conversations across social media with a surprising revelation that suggests he may be nearing the end of his musical journey. The award-winning singer recently hinted at retirement, even as he gears up to release another extended play (EP) just days after dropping his latest project.

The singer, popularly known as Vado, is set to unveil a new EP titled ‘Orange Chase’, a follow-up to ‘Lemon Chase’, which was released barely a week ago. While teasing the upcoming body of work, Kizz Daniel opened up about his motivation for releasing back-to-back music.

In a post on X, a fan excitedly commented on his consistency and musical output, writing:

“VADO wan finish us with over feeding ✌”

Kizz Daniel replied with a bombshell that hinted at his exit from the industry in the near future:

“I have over 600 songs I want to dish out before I hang boot , so ‍♂️.”

The statement quickly went viral, sparking speculation about a possible farewell run or an eventual retirement plan. Known for his smooth vocals and consistent hit-making ability, Kizz Daniel has become one of Afrobeats’ most enduring talents, with a career spanning nearly a decade.

Further adding to the speculation, the singer also announced that he is taking a break from recording to spend more time with his family. In another emotional post, he wrote:

“No more recording for me …. Just enjoying life like it should be …. My family don diss me say I choose studio over them, I’m changing.”

The dual confession reveals a deeper, more personal side of the singer who has often shared glimpses of fatherhood and family life in recent years. Kizz Daniel is a proud father of twins and has occasionally spoken about the challenges of balancing his demanding music career with his role as a parent and partner.

While fans may find it difficult to imagine the Nigerian music scene without the crooner behind hits like “Woju,” “Buga,” “Twe Twe,” and “Lie,” many have taken to social media to express support for his decision to focus on what truly matters, family.

Whether his comments mark the beginning of a gradual exit or a temporary pause, one thing is certain, Kizz Daniel’s legacy in Afrobeats is already solidified. And with over 600 songs still in his vault, fans can expect plenty of music to enjoy before he eventually hangs up his mic.
