“No Be This Guy Naked for Bush?” – Davido Mocks Ex-Osun Speaker Over Comments on Adeleke Family

Afrobeats superstar Davido has taken a public swipe at the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, following the lawmaker’s controversial remarks about the Adeleke family and their alleged political affiliations.

The drama unfolded after Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Tuesday. The visit, which also included Davido and his billionaire father Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, came amidst tensions over the ongoing local government elections crisis in Osun State.

The situation has been tense since February 2025, when local government allocations were withheld due to the dispute between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. The surprise meeting with the President sparked political speculation, particularly whispers of a potential defection deal involving Governor Adeleke and the APC.

In response to the growing rumors, Hon. Timothy Owoeye addressed the media during a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday, vehemently denying any such political merger. In a firm dismissal, Owoeye stated:

“Adeleke family is not welcome in the APC. There is no space for PDP and Adeleke in APC.”

Not one to shy away from controversy, Davido took to social media platform X to issue a stinging clapback. Quoting the news report, the singer wrote:

“No be this guy naked for bush?”

Davido’s jab instantly reignited public memory of a 2018 viral incident involving Owoeye, where he was allegedly caught naked in the middle of the night, reportedly performing ritual activities. The footage of the episode made rounds on the internet at the time, sparking widespread outrage and mockery.

The pop star’s reaction quickly gained traction online, with fans and political watchers weighing in on the long-standing rivalry between the APC and PDP factions in Osun and the Adeleke family’s central role in the state’s political landscape.

As political tensions rise ahead of future elections, Davido’s blunt commentary adds a fiery pop culture twist to what is otherwise a deeply political conversation. His response, layered with sarcasm and memory of past scandals, is already being widely shared and discussed across social media platforms.
