Afrobeats sensation Orezi has opened up about his career trajectory, attributing his decline in the music industry to a loss of ambition. The ‘Ogede’ hitmaker, speaking on Hip TV’s Trending, candidly admitted that becoming comfortable with his success led to a decline in his drive and competitiveness.

“I faded out of the music industry because I became less ambitious and comfortable with where I am. I was always on vacation, enjoying myself,” Orezi explained. He emphasized that withdrawing from the competitive spirit of the industry had a significant impact on his career momentum.

In a poignant observation on the industry’s dynamics, Orezi stressed the crucial role of consistency in sustaining success. Drawing a comparison, he highlighted Davido’s relentless work ethic despite his established status.

“Competition fuels consistency. Look at Davido, for example. He hustles like an underground artist. He has money and fame but he still maintains his hustling spirit,” Orezi remarked.

The singer’s introspective remarks serve as a reminder of the challenges and demands within the music industry, urging artists to maintain ambition and dedication to thrive amidst competition.
