“In 1998, while I was filling my jamb form, still indecisive about the University to attend, my big brother Leo, who was already based in Port Harcourt hustling, said to me, ‘put Uniport as your first choice, so you’ll come be with me in Port Harcourt and I’ll keep my eyes on you cos you’re too stubborn, I’ll take care of you’. He did just that,” Yul wrote.

Yul went on to narrate how his brother personally drove him to the University of Port Harcourt, ensuring that he completed his registration, secured a hostel, and settled in comfortably.

One of the most striking moments he recalled was a night in 1999 when they had no place to sleep after arriving at a friend’s house who was unexpectedly absent. Undeterred, Leo reassured Yul:

“Life is tough, it won’t always be easy, but you must be ready to adapt to any situation you find yourself in, never panic. Take down your seat, we’ll sleep in the car. Don’t be afraid, I’m your elder brother, I’ll protect you. Nothing will happen to you. I’ll always be there for you.”

That act of brotherly love, Yul said, has remained a defining memory for him.

Expressing his deep appreciation, Yul showered his big brother with prayers for long life, good health, prosperity, and peace:

“I love you bro. Happy 55th birthday to you big brother. May God give you more life, good health, joy, more prosperity, peace and all other good things of life. Thank you for all you do. The Big Leo!”

Yul and Leo Edochie are sons of legendary Nollywood icon, Pete Edochie. The heartwarming tribute has sparked an outpouring of admiration from fans and colleagues, celebrating the strength of family bonds and the enduring love between siblings.
