Real Madrid have been dealt a major injury blow as Eduardo Camavinga is set to be out of action for the rest of the season.
The French midfielder sustained a groin injury in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Getafe, and the club has confirmed the severity of the injury on their website on Thursday.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the left adductor tendon,” said Madrid in a statement.
However, Real Madrid did not state the duration of his recovery but according to reports in Spain, Camavinga is expected to be out of action between two to three months ruling him out of the Club World Cup in the summer.
He is also expected to miss the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on Saturday.
Real Madrid have struggled with injuries to key players this season with the likes of David Alaba, Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois, and Dani Carvajal all missing out on action at some point in the season.
Camavinga has scored two goals in 35 games in all competitions for Real Madrid this season.
Real Madrid will take on Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey on Saturday.
