It’s time to pick a side – Dennis Quaid at Trump Coachella rally
On Saturday, former President Donald Trump held a rally in Coachella, California, the city best known for its world-famous music festival.
The event drew significant attention with the appearance of actor Dennis Quaid, who delivered a passionate speech, framing the upcoming election as a choice between “TikTok and the U.S. Constitution.”
Quaid kicked off his remarks by urging the crowd to “pick a side,” asking whether the country would continue to stand for its foundational principles or fall under the influence of platforms like TikTok.
He expressed concerns over the current state of the nation, lamenting what he described as the loss of an America that once had “cheap cash” and was “exporting oil to our allies and friends.”
The actor, known for his recent portrayal of President Ronald Reagan in the film Reagan, took the opportunity to remind the crowd of his admiration for the 40th president, calling him his favorite leader of the 20th century. However, he made clear that Donald Trump holds the top spot as his favorite president of the 21st century.
Quaid also shared a personal anecdote about his housekeeper, Josie, who he revealed had lived in the U.S. illegally for over a decade, using her sister’s identification. Despite working for his family and living in constant fear of deportation, Quaid admitted he only offered to sponsor her for U.S. citizenship after Trump took office.
He then shifted his focus to foreign policy, criticizing the current administration while praising Trump’s efforts in the Middle East.
Quaid called the Biden-Harris administration a “fairy tale” that no longer works, contrasting it with Trump’s near-success with the Abraham Accords, which aimed to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
According to Quaid, Trump had been on the verge of achieving peace in the region, something the world had sought “since the Biblical times of Ishmael and Isaac.”
