A 37-year-old man died early Saturday morning after a stabbing at a major downtown Chicago train station.
Chicago police responded to an emergency call at the Clark and Lake station around 2:30 a.m.
Officers arrived to find the victim unresponsive with multiple puncture wounds to his chest and abdomen.
Paramedics rushed the man to Northwestern Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The stabbing disrupted transit for several hours in the heart of the Loop.
The CTA issued an alert at 3:25 a.m. stating that Blue Line trains were experiencing significant delays.
For several hours, trains were forced to share a single track between Grand Avenue and LaSalle Street.
Normal train service and boarding finally resumed just before 6:00 a.m.
Investigators have not yet confirmed if the attack took place on a train car or the station platform.
No suspects are currently in custody, and police have not released a description of the attacker.
Area detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the station to determine what led to the violence.
