Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face Idibia or 2Baba, has cleared the air following viral reports that he was arrested in London during his ongoing tour.
Speculations flooded social media on Friday after the singer failed to perform at his scheduled London show on Thursday night. Several blogs claimed he had been detained by authorities after a heated altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru, further fueling the controversy.
But in a video message posted to his Instagram on Friday morning, 2Baba dismissed the arrest claims as false, describing them as yet another round of baseless rumors.
According to the “African Queen” hitmaker, the real reason for his absence was due to an unforeseen medical emergency that affected his team.
“We had a medical emergency. It was tough on the show organizers and everybody that came out. We will rebook, and we will come out with meaning to happen,” 2Baba explained.
The singer also urged fans and bloggers to avoid spreading misinformation without facts, adding in Pidgin, “And please, if you no sabi something, make una no talk I beg.”
2Baba assured fans that new dates will be announced soon, promising to return stronger and deliver an unforgettable experience when the rescheduled show holds.
The video has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans expressing relief that the singer was not in legal trouble, while others sympathized with him and his team over the medical scare.
