A 25-year-old man is dead following a targeted shooting Monday morning in West Garfield Park.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Sencere D. Riley.
The incident occurred around 8:37 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Lake Street.
Police report that Riley was standing outside when a black SUV approached him.
Two suspects exited the vehicle and immediately began firing weapons.
Riley suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his neck and his back.
Emergency responders rushed him to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Medical staff later pronounced him dead at the hospital.
After the shooting, the two gunmen jumped back into the black SUV.
They were last seen fleeing eastbound away from the scene.
As of Tuesday morning, Chicago police have made no arrests in the case.
Area 4 detectives are currently leading the homicide investigation.
