A 19-year-old man from Oswego is facing felony charges for a violent robbery that took place on a CTA Red Line train last October.
Chicago Police arrested Kendal Ross on January 6, 2026, at his home on Cascade Lane.
Investigators from the Citywide Robbery Task Force identified Ross as one of the individuals who attacked a 23-year-old man while he was traveling on the train.
The attack occurred on October 12, 2025, in the 0-100 block of West 69th Street.
Police say Ross and others used physical force to beat the victim and steal his personal belongings.
Because the crime happened on public transportation, Ross faces enhanced charges.
Ross has been charged with two felonies:
-
One count of Robbery
-
One count of Aggravated Battery (specifically for attacking a passenger on transit)
Ross is scheduled for a detention hearing today, January 7, 2026, at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding other suspects involved in the incident.
