Veteran Nollywood actress and film producer, Rita Daniels, has finally spoken out amid the ongoing marital crisis between her daughter, Regina Daniels, and billionaire politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, marking her first public reaction since the saga erupted.
In a video making rounds online, Rita appeared visibly emotional as she defended her daughter and took a direct swipe at Nwoko, accusing him of exploiting Regina’s fame, charm, and influence while painting himself as the victim in their troubled marriage.
“You needed her because of her bright star, because she brought you light,” Rita said passionately in the video. “Now you want to dim that same light because it no longer serves you.”
Her reaction comes shortly after Regina Daniels made a series of emotional posts on Instagram, alleging that her husband ordered the arrest of her elder brother and sister in a bid to pressure her into returning to their home. According to Regina, Nwoko allegedly accused her of being a drug addict and insisted she must return to what he termed “rehab” before her siblings would be freed.
The actress, who has been visibly distressed in recent weeks, also claimed that her younger sister might be next in line for arrest if she refuses to comply. Her emotional outcry quickly went viral, prompting massive online conversations and sparking sympathy from fans and celebrities alike.
Rita Daniels’ intervention adds another layer to the unfolding drama, as she openly called for calm but condemned Nwoko’s alleged attempts to use power and intimidation against her family.
“This is beyond marriage now,” Rita stated. “This is about protecting my child’s peace, sanity, and freedom. Enough is enough.”
As of the time of filing this report, Senator Ned Nwoko has yet to respond publicly to either Regina’s claims or Rita’s statement, but social media continues to buzz with reactions, as Nigerians debate the unfolding rift between one of Nollywood’s most talked-about couples.
