Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Yul Edochie, has once again lent his voice to national discourse, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on the immediate concerns plaguing Nigeria rather than getting caught up in the political noise surrounding the 2027 general elections.
In a strongly-worded post shared on his Instagram page, Edochie, who has consistently declared his support for the Tinubu-led administration, expressed deep concern over the country’s current state. He highlighted the surging cost of living and rising insecurity as issues that demand urgent attention from the presidency.
“To my dear President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, @officialasiwajubat. Please don’t let politicians distract you with 2027. We’re still in 2025. High cost of living and high rate of insecurity are still ravaging Nigerians. These 2 remain the most pressing issues to deal with. May God lead you, sir,” the actor wrote.
The seasoned actor’s comment reflects the growing frustration among many Nigerians who are grappling with economic hardship, food inflation, and increasing reports of violent crimes across the nation.
Yul’s post is not his first public message to the president. In an earlier appeal, he had called on Tinubu to consider reviving the cashless policy implemented under former President Muhammadu Buhari, citing its benefits in curbing both criminal activities and the high cost of goods.
Edochie’s latest remarks have stirred mixed reactions on social media. While some hailed his boldness and patriotism, others questioned whether celebrities should play advisory roles in political governance.
