Suspended University of Calabar (UNICAL) Dean, Prof. Cyril Ndifon, testified in court on January 14, disputing allegations of sexual harassment and claiming that photographic evidence extracted from his phone had been edited.

Speaking as the first defense witness in his trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Ndifon denied sending or requesting explicit material and refuted claims made by the prosecution’s star witness, identified as TKJ.

Ndifon alleged that the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) did not verify the evidence with TKJ’s phone and that images presented as evidence, labeled as “Exhibit H,” were altered.

He also stated that he was not present during the extraction of evidence, casting doubt on its authenticity.

Additionally, the professor accused TKJ of gaining admission to UNICAL’s Faculty of Law through questionable means, claiming she scored below the required JAMB score and was admitted after allegedly paying ₦100,000 to someone in the Vice Chancellor’s office.

The ICPC had re-arraigned Ndifon in January 2024 alongside his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, on charges of sexual harassment and obstructing justice. Both have pleaded not guilty. The trial is set to continue on February 12 and 13.
